Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

It’s been awhile. I got tired of saying same old, same old. A lot of things that have happened since wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. We spent Christmas in Guymon Oklahoma. We went to church then went to Elder and Sister Walker's home for dinner. They invited a few more people and had both the young Elders and young Sisters. It was a wonderful Christmas! The spirit was with us all day, you can’t get better than that since it is Christ’s birthday.

Elder and Sister Hutchins have completed their mission and have left the ranch. They have already been called to another mission starting in April. It seems like once you start serving you are on a list and you keep getting called over and over. I hadn’t realized that. I think it will be awhile or longer before Randall and I will be going out again, but we still have 6 months left on this one so I shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.

We now have our new grandbaby Ollie. She was born on December 29, 2016, she is healthy and beautiful. Her birthday is the same day as Great Grandpa (Bob) Vaden. Randall is tickled about that. So we came home to Idaho, (I only made it to McCammon) to see our new or should I say Dakota and Ivan’s new beautiful baby girl Ollie. She is our 14th grandbaby and so very precious. Randall was able to visit his dad and went snowmobiling up Copper Basin. We were able to go to Desiree’s for her birthday, so much fun to spend a day with them. It was nice to be in Idaho, boy, do I miss the mountains! We live in an amazingly beautiful state.

We are progressing on the house but I’m going to wait to show pictures until it is done. Then I will be able to show before and after shots. It’s pretty exciting to see the difference. We will be figuring out what to do for our next project in the following weeks. I don’t know if I’ve talked about it before but we might get to tear down house #2 and build one from scratch. I think I will enjoy doing that a lot more than remodeling.

We had a zone conference yesterday, Saturday. Our leaders the Hynes’s came and visited the site. It’s kind of funny because for you who don’t know our church, a zone conference is held quarterly. Usually it is a Mission President over a zone of up to 200 missionaries. Well we don’t have a Mission President because we are not the normal missionaries, and we only had 4 missionaries, Elder and Sister McKinnon and us Elder and Sister Vaden. So it was very close and personal. Actually we had a wonderful time. We had a meeting to spiritually uplift us and after that interviews with Elder Hynes and after that we looked at the progress of the project (house #1, they thought it was fantastic) and then  the Hynes’s took us out to dinner. One of the best parts though was Randall being told over and over what a wonderful job he has done. He’s kind of beaten himself up because things haven’t gone perfectly. But come to find out everyone thinks he has done an amazing job!!! Yeah!!! I think we will keep working!
Love you all,

Good Day!
